Victoria Valentin is a graduate of Long Island University in Mental Health Counseling. Victoria is a trauma informed and client centered counselor who specializes in anxiety, stress management, and navigating difficult life transitions. She believes in the therapeutic value of humor and tries to incorporate that into her work with clients.
Victoria also holds a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from CUNY Lehman College. She worked as a Middle School Counselor for several years before joining Love & Kindness Wellness Services. In her school counselor role, Victoria has helped students and families navigate the often-stressful pre-adolescent years and also worked closely with teachers and school administrators. She has provided workshops to staff and families on various topics including burnout, mindfulness in the classroom, and self-care.
Victoria’s approach to therapy is holistic and utilizes CBT and solution focused therapy. Additionally, non-western techniques that focus on building a relationship with nature and the body’s implicit wisdom are integral parts of Victoria’s work. Ultimately, she believes that her clients are the experts on their own lives. Her role in their process is to provide safe space, clinically informed techniques and guidance as they navigate current difficulties and celebrate their wins and growth.
