Christian Edwards

Psychotherapist, LMSW

Christian Edwards is a psychotherapist dedicated to supporting Black youth, particularly Black male adolescents and young adults, as they navigate their mental health journeys. His approach is deeply rooted in social justice, with a strong commitment to providing culturally responsive, quality mental health care. As a Black man, Christian understands the complexities of mental health, especially when essential tools and resources have often been inaccessible. This personal experience drives his passion for helping young people heal, grow, and thrive.
Christian holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a focus in Interpersonal Practice in Integrated Health, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He also received specialized training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Yale Child Study Center through the Yale School of Medicine. His therapeutic approach integrates a range of evidence-based methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parent Management Training, Family Therapy, Problem-Solving Skills Training, Play Therapy, Traditional Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Group Therapy with a focus on social skills development.
With extensive experience working with at-risk youth and young adults in diverse settings—including outpatient clinics, group homes, alternative schools, and with incarcerated youth—Christian offers a comprehensive, individualized approach to treatment. His goal is to meet each young person where they are, providing the tools and support they need to succeed.
In his free time, Christian enjoys global engagement, reading, cooking for family and friends, and spending time with his English Bulldog, Appa.
