Calming My Big Feelings

Flyer for Event Calming My Big Feelings

An interactive workshop for kids and their grown-ups
Joaquin and Marley, 8 year old twin brothers, will share:
– Deep breathing exercises that kids and grownups can do to calm their big feelings
– Self soothing strategies to choose from when you have big feelings and need a break
– Tips for grown-ups on how to have patience with the children in their lives.
Vanessa, mom and social worker, will read aloud “Clouds Best Worst Day Ever” and other stories so we can discuss together how we each experience big feelings.
In this interactive workshop we will learn about big feelings, what happens to our bodies when we feel big feelings, and hear ways we each calm ourselves. Marley, Joaquin, and their mom will be joined by
Victoria aunt and counseling intern will demonstrate calming stretches we can use to help can our bodies after big feelings for this interactive 45 minute workshop.

  • A grown up
  • A snack

Something that makes you happy to cuddle or look at
This workshop is appropriate for little ones 3 – 10 years old, and their caretakers.
