Maya Iliff
Maya Iliff (they/them) holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University, as well as a Bachelor’s in Social Work for the University of Pittsburgh. Maya has experience working in substance use treatment and the child welfare system, and has a passion for supporting people as they encounter broken systems and structural harm.
As a psychotherapist, Maya is here to create a warm and non judgemental space to share and explore your experiences. Through integration of spirituality, creativity and cultural practices into session, centering your perspective, interests and passions is central to Maya’s work. Maya specializes in working with C-PTSD and religious trauma, especially transgender and nonbinary survivors.
Each emotion that comes up will be greeted with openness, welcoming tears, laughter and anger. Maya’s approach is client centered, meaning that each person is considered the expert of their own experiences. Therapy with Maya includes a combination of approaches that are collaboratively chosen with each client, including somatic work, DBT skills and behavioral activation.
