Malaysia Dover-Faison, LMSW is a graduate of CUNY Lehman College’s Master of Social Work program. She utilizes motivational interviewing and various client centered frameworks to help clients manage issues of depression, self-esteem, daily stressors, and difficult life transitions.

Malaysia has worked primarily with adolescents, families and individuals in diverse settings such as foster care, education, and transitional housing. She also has extensive experience in adoption and birth parent counseling work. Malaysia has facilitated youth career development and academic support workshops and co-facilitated parenting classes. She believes that every client’s journey is personal and unique. In fact, clients are the masters of becoming better versions of themselves. Malaysia’s approach is non-judgmental, conversational, and strengths-based, allowing clients to feel comfortable and supported on their healing journey.
